The seventh edition of "The Museum Night".

These evening visits are above all a chance to discover pieces that are not available for viewing every day and encounter art in unconventional settings. This is the opportunity to visit Kraków's fortifications and admire museum collections.

During Friday evening/Saturday night (14/15 May 2010, 7pm-1am) it was possible - for free - to visit over 23 of Kraków's museums and other cultural institutions. What was already be the seventh edition of Museum Night was subtitled: "The great Krakow-1910-2010".

To enter all the museums,one should possesed a coin , especially handed over for this occasion and it's value was equal to 1 zloty.

Museum Night is extremely popular venture both amongst inhabitants and tourists, to attest this there is a number of people visiting museums every day during this one night-last year there was about 150.000 people.

This year fort he first time there was a possibility to see (before it's ground opening) the Underground Museum under the Market Square and Sukiennice. This was the last chance to see this unique archeological phenomenon before the termination of construction works.

In the event were participating e.g: Museum of the History of the City of Krakow, Archeological Museum in Krakow, National Museum in Krakow, Sweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Krakow, Pharmacy Museum, Jagiellonian University Museum, Collegium Maius, The Museum of the History of Photography.
