Information about events in the Galicia Jewish Museum during the XXII Festival of Jewish Culture (29.06.2012-08.07.2012) is available in a specially dedicated programme. During the Festival the Museum will be open daily from 9.00-20.00.

Happy Eighth Birthday Galicia Jewish Museum
It's the Galicia Jewish Museum's eighth birthday! So to celebrate, we invite you to come and join us for this special occasion. We have lots of attractions on offer throughout the month of April.
Win a gift! Every visitor will be able to take part in our special birthday lottery. All you have to do is visit us, toss your ticket into the lottery urn, sit back and wait to see if you have won. Winners will be announced on the 28th April. Prizes include books, concert tickets and other surprises. Come and play our birthday lottery - it is free.
Wish us a happy birthday by recording your good wishes with our specially prepared camera. Or, if you wish, you can send us your own happy birthday wishes. All birthday messages will be collected and shown on our website.

The development of the exhibition is based on personal experiences of people who are linked to the Ethnographic Museum in Kraków. From the very outset, we wanted to check what statements are carried over by our one-hundred-year-old collection? Are there any deeper meanings that are hidden in the objects which have been amassed over the years? What kind of questions to they beg to be asked?

“Turner and the elements”
For the first time in Poland, the National Museum in Krakow presents an exhibition of works by William Turner, greatest of the English Romantic painters and precursor of Impressionism and Symbolism, an artist who, in his landscapes of water and clouds, came close to abstract painting.

exhibitions COLOURS OF SALT IN EUROPE
Exhibition “Colours of Salt in Europe” organized by the Cracow Saltworks Museum Wieliczka presents works of the International Photography Competition. This event is included in calendar of National Cultural Programme of Polish Presidency 2011.
The competition was addressed to discoverers of rare and unique places among which are salt centres. On account of the polish Presidency, the range of such places was limited to the area of the European Union.
The competition was attended by 37 persons who sent 165 photographs presenting salt in 24 places in 14 countries of Europe: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Italy.
The jury awarded three prizes and four distinctions taking into consideration sets of photographs submitted by participants.
1 st prize - VALERY HRISTOV (Bulgaria)
2 nd prize - GUILHERME LIMAS (Portugal)
3 rd prize - ROBERT GARSTKA (Poland)
Distinctions:

T. SCHOEPE i J. LUDYGA - Museum of the History of the City and Mining of Potassium Salt (Germany) 94 photographs are displayed at the exhibition “Colours of Salt in Europe”.

THE TREASURE OF GŁOGÓW
The Archaeological Museum in Kraków is holding a temporary exhibition: THE TREASURE OF GŁOGÓW. The exhibition is open between the 22nd of September 2011 and the 20th of March 2012.

Cocnert "The afternoon with Struss"
Cracow Saltworks Museum in Wieliczka is proud to invite you to the concert on September 25th at 4 p.m. which concludes the salt mine series entitled “The afternoon with Strauss”. This year unusually the concert takes place in the Warszawa Chamber. Previously the September venue took place in the Długosz Chamber in the exposition of the museum. Currently the chamber is renovated to improve its functions as a concert and performance hall.

International Photography Competition COLOURS OF SALT IN EUROPE
This event is included in calendar of National Cultural Programme of Polish Presidency 2011. Cracow Saltworks Museum Wieliczka invites everybody to take part in an international event entitled Colours of Salt in Europe, which encompasses a photography competition, an exhibition and an album. Its purpose is to show the beauty, richness and diversity of salt varieties occurring in Poland and in European Union countries.
