In the Stained Glass Museum exhibition spaces are blended with the old stained glass workshop, functioning since 1902.

Visitors can observe the process of stained glass creation, that has remained unchanged for centuries. The building where the Museum is located was built especially for the needs of the oldest Polish stained glass workshop. Its structure has also been unchanged, with every chamber having its own function in a production process. The “life Museum’s” visiting trail runs through the house interiors that preserved its original character with the unique furnishing and workshop equipment.

The exhibition spaces contain both: contemporary and historical stained glass and stained glass projects, including those made by the most renowned artists of the Polish Art Nouveau period: Józef Mehoffer, Wojciech Jastrzębowski, Karol Frycz or Stefan Matejko (the nephew of Jan), the long-term artistic director of the workshop in early XX  century.

Visitors can also admire stained glass that are currently “work in progress” and are presented on the glass easels, and those most lucky ones can witness stained glass masters at work.

Important: the Stained Glass Museum can only be visited with a Museum’s guide. Hours of visiting, bookings and prices are available on the website:
