The Jan Matejko House – since 1904 a Branch of the National Museum in Krakow – is the oldest biographical museum in Poland. The permanent exhibition is housed in an old historic house that was one the home of Jan Matejko (1838-1893), the most famous Polish painter, an accomplished art collector and keen enthusiast of history, especially the history of Krakow. The Jan Matejko House shows an extensive collection of crafts and militaria.
