The Stary Theatre

Closed until June 2010 due to the partial adaptation of the building for the needs of the new museum.
The Stary Theatre Museum is located in the main building at the Stary Theatre, at Szczepański Sq and Jagiellońska St. It was opened on the 200th anniversary of the stage in 1891. The building of theatre itself, establishing 1799, has Secession decorations from the conversion of the building in 1903-1906. The architects, Tadeusz Stryjeński , Franciszek Mączyński, sculptors and painters, members of Polish Applied Art., created one of the most beautiful of the Secession buildings in Krakow. The collection of the Stary Theatre Museum includes precious memorabilia documenting the work of the most prominent actors, directors, stage designers and composers who are the part of the history of this stage ,and due to the rank of the created art., the history of created art in its entirety. Exhibition unavailable due to remodeling of the building to the meet the museum's  new needs.
